The Lord of the Rings™: Ascension™ — Late Pledge is open on Gamefound

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Stone Blade Entertainment (“Stone Blade”, “we”, “us”) collects through stoneblade.com, our emails and our customer support, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Who we are. Stone Blade Entertainment, 1887 Whitney Mesa Dr, Unit 1107, Henderson, NV 89014, United States. Email: [email protected].

What this policy covers

This policy covers stoneblade.com, the emails we send, and the support we provide. We no longer sell products on stoneblade.com. When you buy one of our games, the company you buy from collects your order and payment details under its own privacy policy:

  • physical games: our fulfillment partner Allplay and other retailers;
  • crowdfunding pledges: Gamefound, Kickstarter and PledgeManager;
  • digital games: Steam, the App Store and Google Play. SolForge Fusion Digital has its own terms and privacy policy at solforgefusion.com.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Newsletter signup: your email address and the page you signed up from.
  • Contact form and support email: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, the topic you choose, your message, and anything you attach or send in later replies.
  • Dealer signup: your name, store name, email address and store address. This form is run by Mailchimp.

Information collected automatically

  • When you submit a form: the page you were on, your IP address and your browser type. We keep these as a record of your consent and to stop abuse.
  • Website analytics: pages you view, how you arrived, your device and browser type, and your approximate location based on your IP address. We collect this with Google Analytics, which uses cookies.
  • Advertising tags: tags from our advertising partners, such as Google, Meta and TikTok, record your visit and what you do on our site. That includes pages viewed and buttons clicked, your IP address, your device and browser, and cookie or device identifiers. We use them to measure our ads and to show our ads to people who have visited our site. See Cookies and similar technologies.
  • Security and hosting: our host, Cloudflare, processes connection data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks signals from your browser to tell people from automated bots.
  • Email engagement: whether you opened our emails and which links you clicked. Links in our emails carry tags that tell us which email a visit came from.

Information from other sources

We keep records of purchases and pledges made through the former Stone Blade online store and through our crowdfunding campaigns (Kickstarter, Gamefound and PledgeManager) and other sales channels we use, such as sales at events. We link these records to your email address so we know which of our games you own.

How we use information

  • To send you the news and updates you signed up for.
  • To answer your questions, help with orders placed with us, and send replacement parts.
  • To understand which of our games you own, so the emails we send you are relevant.
  • To run, secure and improve the website.
  • To measure whether our marketing works, and to show our ads to people who have visited our site or who may be interested in our games.
  • To comply with the law and prevent fraud and abuse.

We use AI tools from Anthropic to help our support team sort incoming messages and draft replies. A member of our team reviews every reply before it is sent. We do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you by automated means.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only as described here.

  • Service providers that work on our behalf:
    • Cloudflare: website hosting and security;
    • Supabase: the database behind our newsletter and support tools;
    • Amazon Web Services: email delivery;
    • Google: company email and Google Analytics;
    • Mailchimp: our dealer mailing list;
    • Anthropic: AI assistance for customer support.
  • Advertising partners, such as Google, Meta and TikTok. Our advertising tags send them information about your visit, as described above. We may also give them an encoded (hashed) version of your email address, so they can show our ads to existing customers or to people with similar interests, or leave existing customers out of an ad. These partners use the information to deliver and measure our ads, and may also use it under their own privacy policies.
  • Fulfillment partners, such as Allplay, when that is needed to resolve an order or ship a replacement part.
  • Legal and safety: when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Stone Blade, our customers or others.
  • Business transfers: if Stone Blade is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Some US state laws treat advertising tags, and sharing hashed email addresses with advertising partners, as “selling” or “sharing” personal information for targeted advertising. You can opt out as described in Your choices.

Videos on our pages are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode. YouTube may store information on your device once you play a video.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. You can also control ad personalization in Google ad settings, Meta ad preferences and your TikTok ad settings, and opt out of interest-based ads from many companies through the Network Advertising Initiative and the Digital Advertising Alliance.

Your choices

  • Marketing email: every email has an unsubscribe link. When you unsubscribe, we keep your address on a suppression list so that we never email you again, including if your address reaches us later from another source.
  • Cookie consent: if you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we load analytics and advertising cookies only after you agree in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time.
  • Opt out of targeted advertising, and of sale or sharing: if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we do not load any of our advertising tags for you, and we treat the signal as your request to opt out. You can also email [email protected] and ask us to opt you out; we will also stop including your email address in any list we give advertising partners.
  • Do Not Track: there is no common standard for Do Not Track signals, so we do not respond to them. We honor Global Privacy Control instead.

How long we keep information

  • Newsletter records: for as long as you stay subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep only your email address and the date, on the suppression list described above.
  • Support conversations: for as long as we need them to help you and to keep a record of past support.
  • Purchase and pledge records: for as long as we need them for our legal, tax and accounting obligations, and to support the games you own.
  • Analytics data: kept by Google for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you;
  • give you a copy of it;
  • correct it;
  • delete it;
  • stop using it for marketing.

Depending on where you live, you may have further rights. These include the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, to object to or restrict certain uses, and to appeal if we turn down your request. Residents of California and several other US states, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have rights of this kind.

To make a request, email [email protected]. We will confirm your identity before acting, usually by replying to the email address we have on file. You may use an authorized agent to make a request for you. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases:

  • your consent, for marketing email and for analytics and advertising cookies;
  • our legitimate interests, for running and securing the site, answering support requests and understanding our customers;
  • our legal obligations, for tax and accounting records.

You can withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

International transfers

We are based in the United States, and our service providers store information in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for transfers out of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom.

Children

Our website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. These include encrypted connections, access controls and limiting access to the staff and providers who need it. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will give additional notice, such as an email to subscribers.
